Materials for Luminaries

  • 1 each Empty glass jars (various sizes) Choose jars in various sizes for different snowman designs.
  • 1 can White paint or white spray paint Use for painting the jar to resemble snow.
  • 1 sheet Black construction paper For making eyes and coal buttons.
  • 1 sheet Orange construction paper For the carrot nose.
  • 1 each Battery-operated tealight candles To provide illumination inside the jars.
  • Glue or a glue stick For attaching facial features.
  • 1 each Paintbrush or spray nozzle For applying paint.
  • 1 each Scissors To cut out features and scarves.
  • 1 each Ribbon or fabric scraps Used for making scarves.
  • Optional: Glitter or snow spray For added festive effects.

Instructions
 

Preparing the Jars

  • Clean the jars thoroughly to remove any residues.
  • Paint the outside of the jar using white paint to represent the snowman’s body.
  • Let the paint dry completely, which usually takes about 1-2 hours.

Assembling the Snowman

  • Cut out circles for eyes and buttons from the black construction paper.
  • Cut a small triangle from the orange paper for the carrot nose.
  • Glue the eyes, buttons, and nose onto the painted jar to form a cheerful face.

Adding Accents

  • Cut strips of fabric or ribbon to make scarves and glue them around the jar's neck.
  • Optional: Sprinkle glitter or use snow spray on the exterior of the jar for a wintry effect.

Final Touch

  • Insert a battery-operated tealight candle inside the jar.
  • Turn on the tealight to illuminate the snowman luminaries.

Notes

Experiment with different paints and sizes for unique snowmen. Use outdoor-friendly materials for external displays to ensure longevity.
