  • 1-2 tablespoons Glitter (white or silver preferred) To create the snowstorm effect.

  • optional Food coloring To customize the color.
  • optional Small figurines (like trees or animals) Weight them down for customization.

Preparation

  • Start with a clean jar to ensure a clear view of your snowstorm.
  • Fill the jar about 3/4 full with distilled water.
  • Add 1/4 cup of baby oil or glycerin to your water.
  • Sprinkle in your glitter — about 1-2 tablespoons should be enough.
  • If you’re using faux snow (or cotton), add a small amount for texture.
  • If you'd like to customize the color, add a few drops of food coloring.
  • If you're using small figurines, place them at this stage — make sure they’re weighted down.
  • Carefully screw on the lid, ensuring it’s tightly sealed to prevent leaks.
  • Turn the jar upside down and shake gently to see your snowstorm in action!

Notes

Consider adding different colors of food coloring for a vibrant look, or use holiday-themed decorations for a festive touch. Experiment with different oils for unique effects. Larger jars enhance the visual impact and can be used as calming sensory tools.
