Ingredients

Volcano Components

  • 1 cup Baking soda The main ingredient for the eruption.
  • 1 cup White vinegar Triggers the eruption when mixed with baking soda.
  • 2-3 tablespoons Dish soap Adds foam and bubbles to the eruption.
  • optional Food coloring For adding color to the foam.
  • 1 Plastic cup or container Acts as the volcano.
  • 1 Tray or baking sheet To catch the overflow.
  • optional Safety goggles For added fun and safety.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place your plastic cup or container in the center of a tray or baking sheet. This will act as the volcano's vent.
  • In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 2-3 tablespoons of dish soap. Stir thoroughly until well mixed.
  • If you want colorful foam, add a few drops of food coloring to the baking soda mixture and mix it in.
  • Carefully transfer the baking soda mixture into the plastic cup/container, mounding it like a volcano for a more realistic effect.
  • Slowly pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the cup with baking soda and step back to watch the soap-foam explosion.
  • Observe the eruption as foam bubbles over the sides and enjoy the sensory experience of the bubbling sounds and vibrant visuals.

Notes

Add essential oils for scent and experiment with food color combinations for layered colors. Use bubble solution for more foam. Create themed volcanoes for added excitement.
