  • 1 cup watermelon juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought) Use 100% juice without additives for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice For added brightness.
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup Adjust amount to taste.
  • 3 tablespoons gelatin powder Or use agar-agar for a vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup sour sugar Optional for coating.

  • 1 unit Silicone gummy molds For shaping the gummies.

Preparation

  • Juicing the Watermelon: Cut a ripe watermelon into small chunks, blend until smooth, and strain to obtain 1 cup of juice.
  • Mix in the Lemon Juice: Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice to the watermelon juice for added brightness.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a Pot: On low heat, combine the watermelon juice, lemon juice, and honey in a saucepan.
  • Add Gelatin: Gradually whisk in gelatin powder until fully dissolved, ensuring there are no lumps.

Pour and Set

  • Mold It: Carefully pour the mixture into silicone gummy molds, filling each cavity to about 3/4 full.
  • Chill to Set: Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or until completely firm.

Remove and Enjoy

  • Pop Them Out: Gently push from the bottom of the molds to release the gummies.
  • Coat with Sour Sugar: If desired, roll the gummies in sour sugar for an extra zing.

Notes

Try different fruit juices for variations. For adult gummies, add a hint of chili powder to the sour sugar coating. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
