  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 tablespoon cream of tartar

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Gel food coloring (blue, purple, black) For creating galaxy colors
  • Glitter (silver, holographic, or any preferred colors) To add sparkle to the playdough

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of salt, and 1 tablespoon of cream of tartar. Stir thoroughly to ensure an even mix.
  • Pour 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil into the dry mixture. Gradually add 1 cup of boiling water while continuously stirring.
  • Divide the mixture into smaller portions based on the number of colors you want to create. Add a few drops of gel food coloring to each portion. Use blue, purple, and black for a galaxy effect. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Sprinkle glitter into each colored dough and knead until the glitter is evenly distributed. This adds that sparkly galaxy touch!
  • Allow the playdough to cool before handing it to kids. Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

Customize by swapping out glitter colors for themes. For scented playdough, add extracts like vanilla or almond. Consider mixing in small beads or foam balls for a greater sensory experience.
