Preparation

  • Prepare your workspace by laying down newspaper or a drop cloth.
  • Gather all your materials within arm’s reach.

Painting Steps

  • Decide on the colors you want to use for your ice cream and squeeze small amounts of each acrylic paint onto your palette.
  • Cut kitchen sponges into different shapes, such as circles for scoops and triangles for cones.
  • Dip your sponge into the first color and gently dab it onto the canvas, mimicking the texture of ice cream.
  • Repeat with other colors, overlapping and layering for a vivid effect.
  • Use a sponge to create the cone shape at the bottom of your painting, mixing brown and tan colors to resemble the cone.
  • After the base layers dry, use a paintbrush to add details like sprinkles or a cherry on top.
  • Allow your masterpiece to dry completely.

Notes

Customize your colors and experiment with different sponges for unique effects. Add glitter, stickers, or other embellishments for extra flair. This craft can also be themed for holidays or events.
