Instructions
 

Designing Your Pattern

  • Choose or create a pattern for your stained glass.
  • Make sure it fits the dimensions of your intended window or hanging art.
  • Print or sketch it on paper for reference.

Cutting the Glass

  • Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself.
  • Use a marker to outline your pattern on the glass.
  • Score the glass with a glass cutter along the marked lines.
  • Use running pliers to snap the glass along the scored lines, creating the desired shapes.

Grinding the Edges

  • Take each glass piece to the grinder, smoothing out any sharp edges to ensure safety and better solder adhesion.

Foiling the Glass

  • Wrap the edges of each piece with copper foiling tape, pressing it down to adhere firmly.
  • Use flux on the foil to prepare for solder.

Soldering the Pieces Together

  • Lay the glass pieces in the arrangement you designed.
  • Heat the soldering iron and apply solder to the copper foil joints, binding the pieces together.
  • Start with small amounts, working in sections.

Final Touches

  • Once cooled, clean the soldered piece with a glass cleaner to remove any residue.
  • Optionally, frame your stained glass creation for an added professional touch.
