Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • ½ cup Water
  • various Food coloring
  • optional Edible glitter

Additional Tools

  • as needed Skewers or toothpicks
  • 1 Parchment paper or tray For cooling the sugar

  • 1 Cooking pot
  • optional Candy thermometer To monitor sugar temperature

Instructions

Prepare Your Sugar Mix

  • In a cooking pot, mix the granulated sugar and water until well combined.
  • Place the pot on medium heat and stir until all sugar dissolves, bringing it to a gentle boil.
  • Let it cook without stirring. If you're using a candy thermometer, aim for 300°F (hard crack stage).

Color Your Sugar

  • Once ready, divide it into small bowls based on the number of colors you want.
  • Stir in a few drops of food coloring into each bowl until desired shades are achieved.

Create Sugar Towers

  • Pour the colored sugar onto parchment paper to cool slightly.
  • While it’s still warm, use your hands to mold into small tower shapes or let it cool completely to form crystals.
  • Once cool, stack the sugar pieces using skewers or toothpicks for added height.

Decorate

  • Lightly sprinkle edible glitter over the towers for a sparkling finish.
  • Arrange your Sugar Towers on a platter and admire your work!
