Instructions
Preparation
- Choose a clean, flat surface to work on.
- Gather all materials within easy reach.
Cut the Background
- Use scissors to cut a piece of clear plastic or contact paper into your desired shape (circle, star, heart, etc.).
- If using contact paper, peel off the backing for easier adherence to other materials.
Create the Design
- Cut colored tissue paper into various shapes and sizes.
- Arrange the tissue pieces on one side of the plastic base, creating your desired pattern.
- Experiment with layering colors for added depth.
Attach the Design
- Use craft glue to secure the tissue paper onto the plastic if not using contact paper.
- Ensure that all edges are glued down firmly for durability.
Seal It Up
- If using contact paper, lay another piece on top to seal your creation.
- Press down firmly to prevent any lifting or peeling.
Add the Hanging Mechanism
- Use a hole puncher to create a hole at the top of your suncatcher.
- Thread the string or fishing line through the hole for hanging.
Hang and Enjoy
- Find a sunny window and hang your suncatcher.
- Step back and admire how the light dances through your colorful creation!
