Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 1 sheet Clear plastic or vinyl sheets Base for the suncatcher
  • various pieces Colored tissue paper, cellophane, or transparent plastic Cut into smaller pieces for design
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting the materials
  • 1 bottle Craft glue or Mod Podge For adhering the pieces together
  • 1 piece Paintbrush For applying glue
  • 1 length String or yarn For hanging the suncatcher
  • 1 optional Hole puncher For making a hole to thread the string
  • 1 optional Frame or paper plate For providing structure

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your materials in one place.

Base Cutting

  • If using a frame, remove the backing and use it as a template.
  • Cut the clear plastic or vinyl sheet to your desired shape.

Design Creation

  • Tear or cut the colored tissue paper into smaller pieces.
  • Experiment with different layouts on the base before gluing.

Gluing

  • Start applying glue to your base using a paintbrush for even coverage.
  • Carefully place your tissue paper pieces on the glued area and press gently.

Layering

  • For a layered look, repeat the gluing process, overlapping colors and shapes.

Drying

  • Allow the suncatcher to dry completely, usually taking 1-2 hours.

Hanging

  • If desired, use a hole puncher to make a hole at the top of your suncatcher.
  • Thread string or yarn through the hole and tie a knot, or glue the string to the back.

Notes

Consider color themes based on seasons or holidays and incorporate mixed media for added excitement.
