Instructions

Creating the Suncatcher

  • Begin by choosing a design for your suncatcher. It can be a simple shape like a circle or heart.
  • Cut your transparent sheet into the desired shape or size.
  • If you’re using clear contact paper, cut two pieces and peel the backing off one of them.
  • Take your colorful tissue paper and tear or cut it into small pieces.
  • Arrange the tissue paper pieces onto the sticky side of the contact paper.
  • Once you’re happy with the arrangement, carefully place the second piece of contact paper on top, sealing the colorful pieces inside.
  • If you opted to use beads or glass, add them now by placing them alongside the tissue paper.
  • Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top center of your suncatcher for hanging.
  • Thread your string or fishing line through the hole and tie a knot to make a loop.
  • Find a sunny window to hang your suncatcher and take a moment to admire your handiwork.

Notes

For storage, place the suncatcher flat in a box to prevent scratches. Clean with a soft cloth as needed. Consider reusing materials for future crafting opportunities.
