Ingredients

Materials

  • 1 pieces Transparent plastic (old CD cases, clear plastic containers, etc.)
  • 1 pack Colored tissue paper or cellophane The more vibrant the colors, the better.
  • 1 pieces Scissors
  • 1 bottle Craft glue or Mod Podge For adhering the tissue paper.
  • 1 pieces Brush For glue application.
  • 1 pieces Hole puncher
  • 1 pieces String or suction cup hanger For displaying the suncatcher.
  • optional Glitter, beads, or other embellishments For extra decoration.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Clean and cut the transparent plastic into your desired shape (circle, heart, or geometric). Ensure the edges are smooth to prevent any injury.

Assembly

  • Tear or cut the colored tissue paper or cellophane into small pieces or shapes.
  • Spread a thin layer of craft glue on one side of the plastic base using a brush for even coverage.
  • Place the tissue pieces onto the glued surface, overlapping them slightly for a mosaic effect.
  • Apply another layer of glue over the top of the tissue paper to seal everything in and sprinkle some glitter if desired.
  • Use a hole puncher to create a hole at the top of your suncatcher for hanging.

Display

  • Thread a string through the hole or attach a suction cup to hang. Find a bright window to showcase your creation!

Notes

Try using magazines or wrapping paper for different textures; use paint or markers for added designs on the base layer. Experiment with layering different colors for more depth.
