Ingredients
  

For the ornament mixture

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch Can be substituted with regular flour.
  • 1/2 cup water
  • various food coloring Use different colors for a galaxy effect.

Tools and accessories

  • 1 bowl mixing bowl
  • 1 spatula spoon or spatula
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper Used to line the baking sheet.
  • 1 straw straw For creating a hanging hole in the ornaments.
  • optional clear sealant For added durability.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda, cornstarch, and water. Mix until you achieve a smooth, thick consistency.

Adding Color

  • Divide the mixture into smaller bowls (one for each color) and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl. Mix well, experimenting with swirling colors!

Shaping Ornaments

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using your hands or a spoon, scoop a small amount of colored mixture and form it into a round shape. Place it on the baking sheet.

Creating Hanging Holes

  • Using a straw, gently poke a hole through the top of each ornament.

Drying

  • Allow the ornaments to dry for about 24 hours, turning them occasionally for even drying. If desired, apply a clear sealant for added durability once dry.

Notes

Customize colors by mixing different food coloring shades or adding glitter for a sparkling effect. Use cookie cutters for fun shapes!
