Instructions

Preparation

  • Lay down your wax paper on a flat surface to catch any glue drips and protect your table.
  • In separate containers, mix school glue with your chosen food coloring or liquid watercolors.

Creating the Sun Catchers

  • Squeeze the colored glue onto the wax paper in swirled patterns, creating circles, teardrops, or abstract shapes.
  • Add layers by placing another color on top of the previous one, enjoying the texture as colors merge.
  • If desired, sprinkle some glitter or sequins into the wet glue for extra enchantment.

Finishing Touches

  • Allow your sun catcher to dry completely; this may take several hours or overnight, depending on glue thickness.
  • Once dry, cut around your swirled patterns to create unique shapes if desired.
  • Use tape or string to hang your finished piece in a window where sunlight can shine through.

Notes

Store sun catchers flat in a cool, dry place to preserve them. Dust gently with a soft cloth to clean. Reuse materials for new creations by following the same steps.
