  • 1 Scissors For cutting butterfly shapes.
  • 1 String or fishing line For hanging the suncatchers.
  • 1 Hole punch To create holes for hanging.
  • optional Glitter or sequins For added sparkle.

Preparation

  • Take a clear overhead projector sheet and cut it into desired butterfly shapes, creating a variety of sizes.

Designing

  • Using permanent markers or paints, fill in the butterfly shapes with bright colors, experimenting with swirls and patterns.
  • Sprinkle glitter or attach small sequins before the paint dries for extra sparkle.

Assembly

  • Once your butterflies are colored and dried, use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of each butterfly.
  • Cut a piece of string or fishing line and thread it through the hole, ensuring it's securely knotted.

Final Touch

  • Find a sunny spot in your home or garden to hang your suncatchers and enjoy the spectacle of light dancing through the colors.
