Ingredients
  

Materials for Lanterns

  • 1 pack Tissue paper (various colors) Choose a mix of colors for a vibrant effect.
  • 1 piece Clear plastic or glass jars Any lantern base can be used.
  • 1 unit Scissors
  • 1 bottle Mod Podge or craft glue Mod Podge provides a better finish.
  • 1 unit Paintbrush or sponge brush
  • 1 unit Battery-operated tea lights For safety.
  • 1 length Twine or ribbon Optional for hanging.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and gather all materials.
  • Lay down newspaper or a crafting mat to protect the area.

Making the Lantern

  • Cut tissue paper into squares or strips (approximately 2x2 inches).
  • Using a paintbrush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge on your jar. Work in sections to avoid the glue drying out.
  • Place the tissue paper squares onto the glue, overlapping them for a layered look.
  • Smooth out any wrinkles gently for a polished finish.
  • Once the jar is covered, apply another layer of Mod Podge on top of the tissue paper.
  • Allow it to dry completely (approximately 1-2 hours).
  • For safety, insert a battery-operated tea light inside the jar.
  • If desired, use twine or ribbon to create a handle for hanging.

Notes

Tips: Choose colors based on seasons, holidays, or personal preferences. Experiment with patterns. Use jars of different sizes for uniqueness. Consider adding glow-in-the-dark paint.
