  • Glitter (optional)
  • Clear sealant (mod podge or spray sealant)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Paper plates or trays (for paint)
  • Old newspaper or craft paper (for easy cleanup)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Lay down old newspapers or craft paper to protect your surfaces.
  • Set up paint on paper plates or trays.

Stone Selection

  • Choose smooth river stones or pebbles; feel their texture.

Base Layer Painting

  • Pick a color and use a paintbrush to apply a base coat on each stone.
  • Use smooth strokes and ensure even coverage.
  • Allow the paint to dry fully (about 30 minutes).

Design Addition

  • Once dry, use different colors to create designs: dots, swirls, or even characters!
  • Sprinkle glitter over wet paint for extra sparkle.

Sealing

  • After all designs are dry, apply a clear sealant to protect your artwork.
  • Use a brush for the paint-on sealant or spray in a well-ventilated area.

Display

  • Allow the sealant to dry completely.
  • Arrange the finished rocks in your favorite spots or hide them as treasures!

Notes

Customize colors by mixing paints. For a shiny finish, swap acrylic paints with nail polish. Create themed rocks or incorporate nature elements like leaves or flowers.
