Ingredients
  

Sensory Play Materials

  • 1 large container Large plastic tub or container
  • 1 box Blue or clear gelatin For a water-like effect
  • Various Plastic sea creatures (fish, whales, crabs, etc.)
  • Several Shells and stones (real or artificial)
  • 1 bag Sand or kinetic sand
  • 1 cup Water beads or foam sponge sea creatures
  • Optional Ocean-themed toys (submarines, boats) or sensory fillers (glitter, beads) Optional for extra fun

Instructions
 

Preparing the Sensory Tub

  • Choose a safe and easily cleanable space for the sensory tub.
  • Fill the large tub with blue or clear gelatin to mimic water. If using water beads, soak them beforehand.
  • Sprinkle a thin layer of sand or kinetic sand on one side of the tub.
  • Scatter various plastic sea creatures throughout the tub.
  • Add real or artificial shells and stones.
  • Place scoops and small cups around the tub.

Engaging with the Sensory Play

  • Invite children to explore textures by running their fingers through the sand and gelatin.
  • Encourage storytelling about the sea creatures.
  • Promote scooping and pouring to develop fine motor skills.
