Preparation
- Choose a clean, flat surface to work on.
- Lay down a protective covering if desired to avoid mess.
Mixing Ingredients
- In your mixing container, combine 2 cups of sand with 1 cup of cornstarch and stir until thoroughly combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of water and 1/4 cup of liquid dish soap, stirring gently to avoid too many bubbles.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring continuously until the mixture clumps together and is moldable.
- If you'd like colored sand, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir until fully integrated.
Storage
- Once the mixture reaches your desired consistency, store it in an airtight container for future use.
Notes
If the sand is too dry, add a little more water; if too wet, increase the sand. Consider adding a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.
