  • 1 plastic water bottle Plastic water bottle (empty and clean)
  • 1/4 cup Water Use clean water.
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil Any type of vegetable oil will work.
  • as needed drops Food coloring (various colors) Various colors can be used for different effects.
  • optional Glitter Adds a sparkling effect.
  • 1 small funnel For easy pouring.
  • 1 craft stick or spoon For stirring.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Take your clean plastic water bottle and remove any labels.
  • Use a funnel to pour in 1/4 cup of water.

Adding Ingredients

  • Carefully add 1/2 cup of vegetable oil to the bottle.
  • Drop several drops of food coloring into the bottle.

Creating Fireworks

  • Using a craft stick or spoon, gently stir the contents.
  • Notice the vibrant colors start to swirl and 'explode' within the water!

Finishing Touches

  • For an extra sparkle, sprinkle some glitter into the mix.
  • If you want to store your creation, seal the bottle and shake it to remix the colors and oils.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different color combinations of food dye for unique effects. Use different-shaped containers for varied visual styles, and consider decorating the outside of the bottle to match themes for holidays or events.
