  • 1 pack Green tissue paper For the rind
  • 1 pack Pink tissue paper For the watermelon flesh
  • 1 pack White tissue paper Optional for decoration
  • 1 item Craft knife Adult supervision required
  • 1 item Pencil or marker For drawing the template
  • 1 string String or ribbon For hanging the suncatcher
  • optional pack Black beads or small circles For decoration as seeds

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Draw a watermelon slice shape on a piece of paper, approximately in the form of a half circle.
  • Cut a piece of clear contact paper larger than your template for the base layer.

Layer Creation

  • Cut pink tissue paper into triangular pieces for the watermelon flesh.
  • Cut green tissue paper into half-moon shapes for the rind.
  • Optionally, use black beads or small circles for seeds and place them on the pink area.

Assembly

  • Peel off the backing of the contact paper.
  • Arrange the tissue pieces creatively on the sticky side.
  • Cut another piece of contact paper to cover the arrangement and seal everything.

Final Touches

  • Carefully cut around the outline of your watermelon slice, leaving a small border of contact paper.
  • Use string or ribbon to securely hang your suncatcher in a sunny window.

Notes

Try swapping colors for the rind, such as yellow or orange. Incorporate glitter for added sparkle and experiment with other fruit shapes for a themed display.
