Instructions
Preparation & Design
- Clear a flat surface where you can work comfortably.
- Using your pencil and ruler, draw a large triangle shape that resembles a watermelon slice on a piece of paper.
- Carefully cut out the triangle shape with scissors.
- Cut a piece of contact paper or a transparency sheet, ensuring it is larger than your watermelon template.
- Cut small pieces of red tissue paper for the flesh, green for the rind, and tiny circles of black for the seeds.
- Place the red tissue pieces on the contact paper within the triangle to form the watermelon flesh.
- Add green tissue on the outer edges for the rind.
- Scatter the black pieces randomly for watermelon seeds.
Assembly
- Once satisfied with your arrangement, place another piece of contact paper over the tissue paper to seal them in place.
- Smooth out any air bubbles to ensure a flat surface.
- Cut around the watermelon slice shape, leaving a small border for support.
- Use string or suction cups to hang your suncatcher in a sunny window and enjoy the beautiful colors!
Notes
