Instructions

Preparation

  • Find a flat, clean surface to work on.
  • Lay down newspaper or a plastic sheet to catch any paint spills.

Creating Your Troll

  • Select smooth rocks, as they will serve as the body of your troll. Consider different sizes to create a family of trolls!
  • Using your acrylic paints, paint the rock a base color (skin tone or fantasy color). Allow the paint to dry completely before adding details (10-20 minutes).
  • Attach googly eyes with hot glue. Paint or draw a mouth and nose with a fine brush. Feel free to get creative with quirky expressions!
  • Cut strips of craft felt or use yarn for hair. Glue it to the top of the rock using hot glue. Experiment with colors and styles for a whimsical touch.
  • Cut out felt pieces to create clothes (shirts, skirts, etc.). Glue the felt securely to the body. Add embellishments like sequins or beads for decoration.
  • Allow everything to dry completely. Display your whimsical troll in your garden or inside your home!

Notes

Experiment with different rock shapes for unique trolls. Swap acrylic paint for markers for finer details if you prefer. Use fabric scraps instead of felt for clothing. Try using natural elements like twigs and leaves for added texture.
