Crafting Materials

  • 1 box Blue crayons (or various shades of blue)
  • 1 dish Oven-safe glass or metal baking dish
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper or silicone mold
  • 1 sheet Baking sheet
  • 1 pair Scissors (for crayon prep)
  • Window hooks or suction cups for hanging

Instructions

Preparation

  • Unwrap all the crayons and break them into small pieces (about 1-inch chunks).
  • Sort the colored pieces by shade of blue for varied effects.

Setting Up Molds

  • Line your baking dish or silicone mold with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Fill the mold with your broken crayon pieces, layering different shades for a gradient look.

Melting Process

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  • Place the baking dish on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crayons are fully melted and smooth.

Cooling and Removing

  • Turn off the oven and let the dish cool down gradually.
  • Once cool, carefully remove the suncatcher from the mold.

Finishing Touches

  • Cut any rough edges and make a hole at the top for hanging if desired.
  • Adhere a suction cup or window hook so you can hang your new suncatcher.

Notes
