  • 1 cup shaving cream (foam, not gel)
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • food coloring or liquid watercolors (blue, white, and sparkly colors work well) Add according to color preference

Preparation

  • Clear a clean, flat surface and gather all your materials to keep everything within reach.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 2 tsp of baking powder. Stir until well mixed.
  • Slowly pour in 1 cup of water and 1 cup of shaving cream. Use your hands or a spatula to mix until a dough is formed.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors, and mix until the desired color is achieved. If using, add a few drops of essential oils for a fragrant twist.
  • Knead the dough for a few minutes until it’s smooth and fluffy, enjoying the squishy texture.
  • Place any leftover dough in an airtight container to keep it fresh for future play.

Notes

For added texture, add small beads or glitter. Experiment with various essential oils for different seasonal scents. Encourage kids to mix colors for unique shades and use winter-themed molds or cookie cutters for added fun.
