Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Optional for flavored popcorn
  • 1 piece heavy-duty aluminum foil About 18 inches long
  • 1 piece wooden dowel or stick Optional for holding the cage
  • seasoning of your choice (salt, butter, cheese powder, etc.)
  • 1 fire pit campfire For cooking the popcorn

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut a piece of aluminum foil about 18 inches long.
  • Fold the foil into a bowl shape, leaving the edges high to hold the kernels.
  • If using, thread the foil onto a wooden dowel or stick for easier handling.

Cooking

  • Place 1⁄4 cup of popcorn kernels inside the foil bowl.
  • Drizzle with vegetable oil if you want flavored popcorn.
  • Carefully fold the edges of the foil over the popcorn to create a tight seal, ensuring no kernels can escape when they pop.
  • Hold the foil pouch over the campfire using the dowel or stick.
  • Keep it at a safe distance from the flames, moving it around as necessary.

Serving

  • Wait for the popping sounds to begin. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the popcorn from the fire with tongs.
  • Let it cool slightly before opening the foil.
  • Add your preferred seasonings, mix well, and enjoy!

Notes

You can mix and match seasonings to create different flavors. Try adding nuts or dried fruit for variety. It's best to enjoy this outdoors for safety reasons.
