  • 1 tube Empty cardboard tube (like from toilet paper or paper towels)
  • 1 sheet Colored paper or craft foam
  • 1 pair Scissors
  • 1 bottle Glue (white or hot glue)
  • 1 set Markers or paints
  • 1 optional Googly eyes Optional for decoration
  • 2 pieces Pipe cleaners For antennae
  • 1 optional Glitter or sequins Optional for decoration

Preparation

  • Take your clean cardboard tube and ensure it’s steady; trim if necessary to adjust the height.

Wing Creation

  • Cut out two wing shapes from colored paper or craft foam.
  • Shape them as you desire—rounded, elongated, or with curves for a whimsical feel.
  • Optional: Add glitter or sequins to the wings for extra sparkle.

Assembly

  • Attach the wings to the top of the cardboard tube using glue.
  • Position them symmetrically on each side.

Feature Addition

  • Draw or paint a face on the top of the tube; consider using googly eyes for a fun touch.
  • Cut two small pieces of pipe cleaners; twist them together to form antennae and stick them on top with glue.

Finishing Touches

  • Use extra pieces of paper to create patterns or designs on the body.
  • Let everything dry completely, then find a perfect spot to display your dragonfly!

Swap out colored paper for fabric scraps for a more textured look. Use markers to add intricate details on wings or body for enhanced creativity.
