Crystal Heart Ornaments

Ingredients
For the Mixture
- 1 cup Clear gelatin (unflavored) Use unflavored gelatin for crystal clarity.
- 1 cup Water Room temperature water for mixing.
- to taste Food coloring (various colors) Choose colors based on your preference.
- optional Glitter or sequins Add for extra sparkle.
For Molding and Hanging
- 1 Heart-shaped silicone mold Make sure the mold is clean and dry.
- 1 String or ribbon For hanging the ornaments.
- 1 Craft stick or spoon For mixing the ingredients.
- optional Heat-resistant gloves Use if sensitive to temperature.
Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of water with the clear gelatin.
- Stir gently until the gelatin is fully dissolved, avoiding bubbles.
Coloring and Mixing
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the gelatin mixture.
- Mix well until the color is evenly distributed.
- If desired, sprinkle some glitter or sequins into your mixture for extra sparkle.
- Gently stir, making sure not to create bubbles.
Molding
- Carefully pour the mixture into your heart-shaped silicone mold.
- Fill each mold cavity evenly.
Setting
- Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 4-6 hours (or until set).
- Check after 3 hours to see if the gel has firmed up.
Finishing Touches
- Once firm, gently peel the hearts from the mold.
- Use the craft stick to poke a small hole at the top of each heart.
- Thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole and tie a knot.
Notes
For swirled effects, mix colors or layer them carefully. You can add essential oils for scent or use flavored gelatin for an edible version. Store in a cool, dry place to prolong lifespan.
