Ingredients
  

Chalk Mixture

  • 1 cup water Room temperature
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup calcium carbonate Available at craft stores
  • 1-2 tablespoons glow-in-the-dark powder Adjust based on desired brightness
  • to taste drops food coloring Optional, for color

Materials

  • 1 set silicone molds or plastic containers For shaping the chalk
  • 1 each mixing bowl
  • 1 each whisk or stirring stick For mixing ingredients

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and lay down newspaper or a drop cloth to catch any spills.
  • Gather all your materials for convenience.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of flour.
  • Use a whisk to blend thoroughly until there are no lumps.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of calcium carbonate while stirring to incorporate evenly.

Adding Glow-in-the-Dark Powder

  • Mix in 1-2 tablespoons of glow-in-the-dark powder.
  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your favorite hue.
  • Stir until well combined, ensuring even distribution of color and glow.

Pouring Mixture

  • Carefully pour the mixture into your silicone molds or plastic containers.
  • Tap the molds gently to release any air bubbles.

Drying

  • Allow the chalk to dry for at least 24 hours. If possible, place it in a warm, dry spot.
  • Once dry, carefully remove the chalk from the molds.

Charging and Using

  • Expose the chalk to bright light for a while to 'charge' the glow effect.
  • Now you’re ready to create masterpieces in the dark!

Notes

Customize your chalk with different colors, scents, or textures. Use your glow-in-the-dark chalk for urban art or nighttime treasure hunts.
